A legacy of excellence
Engineer Óscar Cortazar Miranda founded Climas S.A. with the technical backing of Boyd Engineering Inc.
The company began by selling and installing HVAC equipment and manufacturing furnaces and ducts. From the start, its focus on technical quality and customer service set the stage for its expansion.
Under the leadership of Óscar Cortazar Bickley, Climas S.A. entered the industrial and maquiladora sector, standing out for its high technical level and commitment to service.
This step allowed the company to build relationships with key clients and set the course for sustained growth nationwide.
In the mid-1990s, Climas S.A. consolidated its presence in the industrial sector, driven by the strategic vision of Óscar Cortazar Bickley, who identified the potential of the maquiladora sector.
This marked the beginning of a period of national positioning, laying the groundwork for the company's future professionalization.
In 2008, Climas S.A. formalized its Board of Directors.
Leopoldo Carbajal became CEO, focused on leading the company's growth and ensuring excellence in HVAC projects, efficient operations and customer satisfaction, while Carmen Cuilty became Chair of the Board, leading the transition toward an institutional organization.
This change brought corporate governance practices, more structured growth and a long-term vision.
ACR Latinoamérica magazine recognized Climas as the 5th best HVAC installer in Mexico and one of the 100 leading companies in Latin America, strengthening its technical prestige and operational capacity in the region.
Climas celebrated its 60th anniversary with a series of meaningful activities that reflect its commitment to the community, education and the environment.
• The conference "The Science of Happiness" by Tal Ben-Shahar was held to benefit the association Comunidad y Familia A.C.
• A benefit concert was held in support of CAPTAR.org, an organization focused on water harvesting in the Sierra Tarahumara.
• An agreement was signed with the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua to sponsor students in the Mini Baja SAE competition, promote refrigerant recycling projects and grant scholarships.
This anniversary marked a key moment of social impact and positioned Climas as a company that goes beyond the technical, acting as an active agent in transforming its surroundings.

Amid a crisis for the industrial construction sector in Mexico, Climas reaffirmed its capacity for analysis, adaptation and strategic vision.
The company strengthened its position with HVAC solutions centered on energy efficiency, sustainability and technical reliability, marking the beginning of a new stage of operational reinvestment and resilient leadership.
